Jamie Burton, Front End Developer

Jamie Burton's Portfolio

About Me

After beginning my career in movies and television, I switched to front end development. I did so because I enjoy bringing ideas to life to help myself and others, and programming offers plenty of opportunities to do so. You can see some examples of that in my projects below.

Currently, I am a Front End Developer at Accenture where I have worked with a variety of large companies and programming languages, quickly getting up to speed with new codebases.

Projects

The code for my projects is available on GitHub. These include my portfolio itself, which was built using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Sass, and Cypress. Another example is the Shopify application that I created using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Redux, GraphQL, and Apollo. If you are interested in seeing other examples of my work outside of what is on my GitHub, please let me know.

Desk Finder

Video of Desk Finder Project

This is an internal application that I came up with and developed at Accenture. As a consulting business, people may be off on business trips while others in the office are looking for a desk to use. This makes it easier to determine what desks are available and allows employees to reserve seats. I worked alongside a designer to complete the final version.

Languages Used

Canvas Chrome Extension

Canvas Chrome Extension Project

This is a Chrome Extension for a learning management system, Canvas, which is used to create online courses. I developed it while working at the Kellogg School of Management to help the course support team save time when using Canvas on various tasks.

Code Blocks

Code Blocks project

This is a game that I designed to help new coders learn about front end development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It is the first project that I made during coding bootcamp, which I have since restructured. It can be played alone or against one other person. At the end of the game, links are provided for correct, and incorrect answers, to make it easier to review.
